  • Managing obesity

Obesity management would include certain medications, changing lifestyles, and various treatments or surgery. The primary treatment for obesity could be a weight loss program, which provides for following a proper diet chart and regular physical exercises. Complete medical and health history of the patient along with BMI number, blood tests, would be identified before finalizing on any of the treatments.

Diet: The primary necessity is to reduce calories and follow a healthy diet chart. A steady way of losing weight can last longer and is considered to be healthy. It is always better to make one’s chart based on what suits best for oneself to remain healthy and fit. It is recommended not to follow crash dieting as it is considered to be unhealthy with temporary results.

Exercise: The body requires the right amount of physical activities or exercises to remain healthy and fit. Brisk walking, aerobics, dancing, cycling, and much more can help healthily reduce weight. Be it any form of exercise, it is better to increase all of it to make oneself stronger gradually, and this would help for a permanent change.

Medications: Losing weight permanently and adequately would require a healthy diet and exercise, but at times, doctors would prescribe medications to treat obesity. However, weight loss medication needs to be consumed along with diet and exercise. Based on the health history and possible side effects, the doctor would suggest medicines.

Surgery: Metabolic and bariatric surgery would be performed to treat morbid obesity and obesity-related diseases and conditions. It would help limit the intake of food by reducing the stomach’s capacity. People whose BMI is 35 or more would be recommended to perform either of these surgeries. The surgery also helps to improve the health condition by resolving obesity-related problems such as diabetes, heart problems, sleep apnea, hypertension, and cholesterol.
